Inspection first, always

A deck can look tired on the surface while the framing underneath is perfectly sound — or look fine on top while the ledger, posts or footings are quietly failing. We inspect the parts that matter for safety first: the ledger board, railings, posts and footings. That tells us whether you need a quick repair, a resurface, or a rebuild. Resurfacing: like-new without a full rebuild

If your framing, posts and footings are genuinely solid but the boards and railings are worn out, resurfacing is often the smart move: new decking and new railings on your existing structure, for far less than a full rebuild. It's also the perfect moment to switch to low-maintenance composite decking so you never stain or seal again. Resurfacing only works over sound framing, which is exactly why we inspect first.

Safety and the building code

Older GTA decks were sometimes built with undersized framing, nailed ledgers or footings above the frost line. Where a deck isn't safe or to code, we'll tell you plainly and bring it up to standard.
